The following are programs for Adults and All Ages happening at the Kenmore Library in March

Saturday, March 22, 2-4pm

Description: Learn to use your phone to create compelling photos! Learn about your phone’s powerful features (including portrait mode, burst mode for action and panorama mode for stunning landscapes and cityscapes) along with apps and accessories to extend its capabilities and nourish your creativity. After this class, intentionally make (versus take) high impact photos with the camera that’s always with you.

Presented by professional photographers, John and Lisa Merrill.

Annual free tax preparation help begins Feb. 3

(No appointments February 17)

Description: Free individualized tax preparation assistance provided by trained AARP volunteers. No age or income limits.

Please make an appointment by calling the Kenmore Senior Center, 425.489.0707.

Last appointment begins at 2:45pm. Walk-ins will be accommodated at the library as time permits.

Documents you need to bring:

  • Government issued photo identification for each taxpayer.

  • Last year's tax return, if available.

  • Social Security card for each taxpayer and any dependents on the return. A Social Security benefit statement (SSA-1099), for those receiving social security payments, is a valid substitute.

  • If you don’t have a Social Security number, you will need an unexpired ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number); AARP volunteers can explain how to apply for an ITIN.

  • Checkbook or pre-printed direct deposit information showing routing number and direct deposit account number if you want to do a direct deposit of any refund(s).

  • All tax and income documents for 2024 (W-2 forms, interest and dividend statements, etc.). Visit http://AARP.org/taxdocs for a list of documents you may need.

Description: Practice speaking with other English language learners. Learn about American culture and meet people from around the world.

 



Friday, March 21, 4-5:30pm

This book group usually meets at the Bothell Library but will meet at the Kenmore Library in February and March.


Description: Познакомьтесь с людьми, которые любят читать книги. Встречаемся каждую третью пятницу месяца с 16:00 до 17:30.

Приходите обсудить книгу или автора которого вы любите или недавно прочитали. Вам не надо ничего заранее читать.

Description: Play and practice chess! All skill levels are welcome. Ages 9 and older, ages 8 and younger with adult supervision. Sponsored by the Friends of the Kenmore Library.



Friday, March 14, 2-4pm

Description: Come to the library to create casual art in a relaxed and friendly environment with basic arts supplies, tea, snacks and quiet music. You can also bring your own project to work on!

In March, we will have a variety of supplies from past art drop-ins for you to use in any way you wish: coloring, watercolors, Sharpie tie-dye, embroidery, collage, paper beads and 1.5" button-making. Sponsored by the Kenmore Library Association.

Description: Hill Women: Finding Family and A Way Forward in the Appalachian Mountains by Cassie Chambers.

Wednesday, March 19, 6:30-7:30pm

Description: In March, we continue our series of Meal Courses with: Salad Freak: Recipes to Feed a Healthy Obsession by Jess Damuck.

Try making one or more recipes of your choice from this month’s cookbook! Send a photo of your finished dish to the librarian host along with brief comments about your experience. We cannot share food at these meetings, but we will watch a slide show of our cooking adventures and share successes and failures!
