Kenmore Heritage Society awarded $3,000 Sivinski Grant

Writer: kencomclubkencomclub

The Kenmore Heritage Society with encouragement from Assistant City Manager, Nancy Ousley, applied for the Sivinski Grant to continue the society's acknowledgment of Kenmore's First People.

The organization was awarded the grant to commission a mobile free-standing mural that can travel to schools and Kenmore open spaces. The mural will ultimately be installed at TL' AWH-AH-DEES park (formerly Squires Landing).

The six-sided mural shown is an example of the type of freestanding mural the Heritage Society has commissioned. It is working with the Burke Museum and a Tulalip artist to create a mural celebrating the central role of the salmon in tribal culture.
