More than 25 people heard Kenmore Police Chief Brandon Moen explain the complexity of the Kenmore Police Department's operations at KCC's Nov. 12 potluck.
As part of the King County Sheriff's Department, the Kenmore office has 13 commissioned officers, 11 of whom are assigned to patrol. The department relies on the King County Sheriff's department for administrative services and technical support services.
The department works closely with neighboring police departments of Shoreline and Bothell in a collaborative approach to address crime trends. Officers responded to more than 3,000 calls in 2024 and initiated more than 6,000 contacts last year.
In addition, officers engage with the community in multiple local events, and manages the security needs for community building events.
The potluck was held at the Kenmore Community Club as part of the club's 100th Anniversary series of potlucks with presentations celebrating the city services that make Kenmore a great place to live.
Next month, Dec. 10, will be the club's annual Holiday potluck and White Elephant gift exchange. Click here for more information.
