With the advent of social media, our society has experienced a loss of personal communication, and the development of AI and robots for jobs like caregiving and customer service is likely to lead to a further decline in interpersonal interactions.

We can counter this trend by simply getting together and meeting with our friends and neighbors over a meal. For over 90 years the Kenmore Community Club has hosted monthly potlucks on the second Wednesday of each month.

Building on the success of its "Potlucks with Presentations" last year that featured presentations by every Kenmore City Department, the Kenmore Community Club board voted to continue to have community conversations at its Jan. 28, 2026 board meeting.

The new "Dinner and Discussion" series of speakers (TBA) is intended to bring members of the Kenmore Community together to learn and expand our collective understanding of some of the issues facing our community. Topics will range from how the digital revolution continues to remake our world, to how racism divides us, to what it means to be homeless, and how AI may affect our civil rights.

Watch this space to to see the schedule of topics and make plans to join your friends and neighbors at our "Dinner and Discussion" series of events every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm at the Kenmore Community Club, 7304 NE 175th St., Kenmore, WA.
