City of Kenmore seeks volunteer candidates for planning commission
Kenmore, WA – The City of Kenmore is seeking volunteers to serve on the Planning Commission. Candidates must be Kenmore residents and could be selected to start a four-year term starting in January 2022, or fill a future vacancy. The application deadline is November 10, 2021.
The Planning Commission serves as a policy advisory body to the City Council providing guidance and recommendations on the City’s Comprehensive Plan and related land use documents. Administrative rules govern how the Planning Commission conducts its business.
The seven-member Commission typically meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Kenmore City Hall.
All commission members are unpaid volunteers. During the pandemic, the Planning Commission is meeting online using the Zoom software platform.
Desirable qualities of a commissioner include a strong interest in the future of the Kenmore community, an ability to review meeting materials in advance, and being able to communicate well with others.
The City Council is committed to appointing a commission that reflects the diversity of the community including members from all geographic areas of the city. All residents are encouraged to apply and share this opportunity with others who may be interested.
