Got an electric fan that quit working, a broken weed whacker, a blender that doesn't blend, well fix it!

The King County Solid Waste Division is sponsoring a series of fix-it workshops to help people fix their broken appliances and tools. There are two workshops scheduled near Kenmore coming up in August and September.

Aug. 30, 3 to 6 p.m. at Shoreline Library;

Sept. 10, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Bothell Library.

Volunteer fixers will work on small household items, personal items, some electronics, textiles and clothing. However, they will not be able to offer lengthy reconstructive repairs, major clothing alterations or sharpening of any knives or tools.

Sign up for the events by sending email to Repair Events Coordinator Tom Watson at tom.watson@kingcounty.gov or call 206-477-4481.
