AsIf Theatre presents "Outside Mullingar" Oct. 2-19

Join us for the perfectly-imperfect Irish romantic comedy, Outside Mullingar, written by John Patrick Shanley, writer of the Oscar-winning Moonstruck and the Academy Award-Nominated, Doubt.

Anthony and Rosemary are two introverted misfits who live on adjoining farms in the Irish countryside. Neighbors for generations, things come to a head when Tony Reilly, Anthony’s father, reveals his plan to disinherit him and sell the farm to another relative. As a feud simmers between the two families old secrets, surprising truths, and long-hidden feelings threaten to emerge.

In this quintessentially Irish story, the heartbreaking and the hilarious are woven together to create a deeply moving story of yearning, loss, family, romance, and the vulnerability of taking a chance on love.

Nominated for three Sound on Stage Awards for Best Director, Best Actor, and winner of Best Play, this captivating production of Outside Mullingar was originally presented as the inaugural show of Bainbridge Island’s Studio Series in 2024. Running only five performances, this highly acclaimed co-production between BPA and Circle of Fire Theatre felt unfinished.

Its director, Cindy Giese French, suggested a co-production between As If Theatre and Circle of Fire Theatre to bring this magic back to the mainland. We are so excited to share it with a wider audience.

$25 General Admission, $20 Seniors / Students / Military and special "Pay What You Can" pricing October 9-12. Kenmore Community Club members receive a 50 percent discount.

Playing at the historic Kenmore Community Club, which backs up to the Burke-Gilman trail in the heart of Brewery Row. Walk, bike, roll or stroll down to the KCC for this funny and heartfelt show.
