How America Talks (differently) about Slavery
From its beginning slavery has had profound and lasting influence on US, history. From the compromises with the slave holding colonies needed to ratify a constitution, to society's current tensions between critiquing and celebrating America’s 250th birthday, slavery has shaped our history.
In commemoration of Juneteeth, the Kenmore Community Club is proud to host this talk, by Dr.R. Charles Weller, Ph.D., associate professor of History at Washington State University, and Senior Research Fellow, at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
