Wallace Swamp Creek Habitat Restoration Project celebrates one year of stewardship

Volunteers get involved in Kenmore parks restoration

Volunteers marked the one year anniversary of the community-led habitat restoration project at Wallace Swamp Creek Park.

The work is being done with the goal to restore native vegetation, improving biodiversity and habitat for native wildlife and revitalizing the Swamp Creek Watershed.

Check out the latest blog post by project co-founder Tracy Banaszynski, and learn more about the project and how you can get involved. We thank the Kenmore community for their outstanding stewardship of the land!

"My deepest gratitude to our community for volunteering their time and labor at restoration events," Banaszynski wrote. "Thank you for whatever you have been able to do–it all matters so much."

The project is on pause again as weather a winter spike in COVID cases have curtailed activities, but hopefully it will restart in the spring.

If you'd like to get involved contact Tracy via the project website.
