Tutors at Kenmore Library (Study Zone)



Tuesdays – 6:00pm–8:00pm

Volunteer tutors provide homework help for grades K-12. They can also give language support for homework or translation in many languages.

Students may drop in any time during Tutor hours.  Look for volunteers wearing the Tutor…



Mondays, through April 13 10:00am–4:00pm

Description: Free individualized tax preparation assistance provided by trained AARP volunteers. No age or income limits.

Please make an appointment online:Kenmore Library Tax Aide Registration. If you need assistance making your appointment, please call the Kenmore Library at 425-486-8747.


You can also call the Kenmore Senior Center on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9a-12p at 425-489-0707. Last appointment begins at around 3pm. Walk-ins will be accommodated at the library as time permits.


Please arrive 30 minutes before appointment time to fill out intake packet (Form 13614-C), or plan to complete this beforehand. Pick up a packet at the library or when Tax Help is in session.



Thursdays – 10:00am–12:00pm

Description: Practice speaking English with other English language learners and trained conversation helpers. All levels are welcome.

Registration not required.



Wednesday, April 8, 4-5pm

Description: Play and practice chess! All skill levels are welcome. Ages 9 and older, ages 8 and younger with adult.

Sponsored by the Kenmore Library Association.

Friday, April 10, 2-4pm

Description: Come to the library to create casual art in a relaxed and friendly environment with basic arts supplies, tea, snacks and quiet music. You can also bring your own project to work on!

In April, use button makers to make 1", 1.5", and 3" button pins. There will be basic instruction on using the button makers, magazines and scrap paper to create designs, and templates on a laptop to print out your own digital designs. Feel free to bring your own paper and photos to turn into buttons. Drop in at any time. Sponsored by the Kenmore Library Association.

Wednesday, April 15, 6:30-7:30pm

Try making one or more recipes of your choice from this month's cookbook! Send a photo of your finished dish or dishes to the librarian host along with brief comments about your experience.

We cannot share food at these meetings; instead watch a slide show of our cooking adventures and share successes and failures!
