Description: Join Eastside Audubon’s birding guide Lori Danielson for insights into the lives of Great Blue Herons, the official bird of Kenmore and Seattle. Learn more about this tall, stately bird commonly seen in the Puget Sound area, including what they like to eat and their surprising nesting site in Kenmore.

Description: Play and practice chess! All skill levels are welcome.

Friday, February 13, 2-4pm

Description: Come to the library to create casual art in a relaxed and friendly environment. We will have basic arts supplies, tea and snacks and quiet music. You can also bring your own project to work on!

In February, explore the Japanese art of dying folded papers to create interesting designs and patterns. You will get a small amount of instruction and a then a lot of time to experiment. Large sheets of rice paper and dyes will be provided, but feel free to bring your own paper or cloth. You will bring damp materials home to dry over the next few days. Drop in at any time.

Try making one or more recipes of your choice from this month's cookbook! Send a photo of your finished dish or dishes to the librarian host along with brief comments about your experience.

We cannot share food at these meetings; instead watch a slide show of our cooking adventures and share successes and failures!
