The SR 522 (Bothell Way) road construction between 83rd PL NE and the Wayne Curve at 96th is continuing to make progress. The project will widen lanes and add Bus Rapid Transit lanes in addition to upgrading utilities, access to the Burke Gilman trail and neighborhoods south of the highway. The project will also add sidewalks on the north side and install center medians and street lights, and relocate utilities underground.
The Stage 3 project is a continuation of Stage 1 and Stage 2 all being done ahead of the Bus Rapid Transit project planned by Sound Transit that will connect Redmond, Woodinville, Bothell and Kenmore with the Link Light Rail station being built at NE 145th in Shoreline.
Construction started on April 29, 2019 and is expected to be completed in Summer 2021. Funding was approved by voters as part of the Sound Transit 3 ballot measure.
