The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a FEMA developed program that educates community members on disaster preparedness and hazards in our region. CERT trains you in basic response skills to these hazards that includes utility and fire safety, search and rescue, First Aid and overall preparedness.
You will learn critical emergency preparedness skills, including Fire Safety, Basic First Aid, Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search & Rescue, Utility Management, and more. This hands-on training equips you to protect yourself, your family, and your neighbors while building stronger community connections.
To register for the class, please complete this application. This is a 3-day class with instruction on Saturday May 3rd, Sunday 4th, and Saturday May 10th from 8am - 5pm each day. Classroom sessions and final simulation will be at Fire Station 51 in Kenmore - 7220 NE 181st Street Kenmore, WA 98028. This class is free and attendance at all classes is required to receive your certificate.
This class is open to adults and youth aged 14-15 years old may participate with a waiver signed by their parent/legal guardian and a parent present. Youth aged 16-18 years old may participate with a waiver signed by their parent/legal guardian; no parent need be present. Students will fulfill 24 hours of Community Service towards honor society, graduation and college applications.
