The final striping and bus lane markings have been finished as the final piece of the SR-522 construction phase 3 between Kenmore and Bothell, allowing the removal of the construction zone barrels that have marked the route over the past two years.
The multi-year project is a continuation of the SR 522 Stage 1 and Stage 2 improvements. It provides road improvements, Business Access and Transit (BAT) lanes from the end of Stage 1 and 2 improvements to 83rd Place NE. This stage of the project was part of the Sound Transit SR 522/NE 145th Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project that will widen the existing lanes of SR 522 and create BAT lanes in both directions between Woodinville and Shoreline connecting with the NE 145th ST light rail station.
Additionally, this project added a sidewalk on the north side, center medians and street lights, and relocated utilities underground.
