Kenmore playwrights escape – actors and directors join the hunt for meaning

ree

JOIN US AUG 8-10 FOR A FIGHT TO THE DEATH! OR, AT THE VERY LEAST, A VERY STRONG WAR OF WORDS!

Sequestered for a month, eight playwrights have finally dug their way out of their darkened writing caverns, leaving only scattered lead shavings from their nubby pencils, old coffee cups, and a few regrets. The secret to their escape? Adding "The End" to the final page of their short play.

Eight directors and 14 actors are now busily rehearsing the playwrights' work; seeking understanding, finding motivation, and heroically training to earn the title of Best of the Fest. As we celebrate a half-decade of memorable play festivals, it’s only fitting that we shine a spotlight on another true local hero: our resident sound designer and fellow Kenmore resident, William French.

Each of the eight plays were inspired by a piece of original music created especially for As If Theatre from one of its nine main stage productions.

This popular event plays at the historic Kenmore Community Club 7304 NE 175th, Kenmore, Wa (now with AIR CONDITIONING!) located right in the heart of Brewery Row, just off the Burke-Gilman Trail. Walk, bike, roll, or stroll down to the KCC to celebrate the weird and the wonderful!

$20 per ticket with Saturday's matinee performance at PAY WHAT YOU CAN!
