Author Event at Kenmore Library
Saturday, May 30, 11:30am-1pm
Description: Just in time to launch your best summer yet, join local Bothell author and cognitive neuroscientist Dr. Therese Huston for a highly engaging conversation about how to care for your mind and brain.
Most of us want to be a little happier, a little more focused, and a lot less stressed. We don’t want to overhaul our lives – we want simple approaches that are easy to fold into our everyday lives, and Therese will offer you several from her new book Sharp: 14 Simple Ways to Improve Your Life with Brain Science (Mayo Clinic Press).
Books will be available for sale and author signing.

Author Event at Kenmore Library
Saturday, May 16, 2-3:30pm
Description: What defines heroism—not just in sports, but in life? And what traits help define a hero?
Explore the powerful, little-known stories of four Olympic athletes whose journeys reveal profound dimensions of heroism. Learn about perseverance from skier Gabriele Andersen-Schiess, courage from skier Brian Stemmle, sportsmanship from biathlete Tracy Barnes, and championing human rights from track athlete Peter Norman.
Through vivid storytelling and audience reflection, we’ll consider how their lessons on perseverance can inspire our own stories.
Local Kenmore author Doug Levy is an award-winning journalist who spent 35 years in politics and government as a spokesperson for two Members of Congress, a Government Affairs Director for the City of Everett, and owner/operator of Outcomes By Levy, LLC, a consulting and lobbying firm.
