KCRC Head Coach Siobhan to row on in California

Kenmore Community Rowing Club announced on April 22, 2026, that Head Coach Siobhan Quirke has notified the KCRC board that she will be leaving the club in May.

Originally from Long Beach, CA, Siobhan and her fiancé are moving back to Southern California in mid-May. The board offered its congratulations and expressed its best wishes for the couple.

At the same time the board expressed the gratitude of the club's membership for what she has contributed to the club, stating that Siobhan has been a steadfast leader spearheading so many efforts for KCRC — "her calm presence, consistent feedback, and vision will be missed!"

Siobhan pledged to work with the board on coaching coverage starting mid-May. While the finer details are still being worked out, the club has a strong community of summer coaches and an even stronger community of home-grown coaches that will fill Siobhan’s shoes in the short-term.

The Board’s and Siobhan’s priorities are ensuring coverage for morning adult sessions, adult learn-to-row sessions, and summer youth camps - the board does not foresee any interruptions in the club's scheduling.

The Board also expressed thanks to community members that are already stepping up to provide support and coverage, and thank you in advance to the folks that will support in the future. In the long-term, the Board is strategizing on coverage plans and will communicate the plans once they are established.
